READING
IS THINKING!
Scholars are
becoming conscious readers by thinking about their reading. They are encouraged to record their thoughts
and feelings as they read their text.
Scholars are REQUIRED to read 30 minutes nightly and respond by writing about
their thinking on their daily reading response sheet.
WRITING
THOUGHTFULLY…
Scholars wrote entries in their
journals based on their self-generated writing topics last week. This week, they will continue to practice
their writing nightly (homework) by using the following prompts:
Monday:
What makes your best friend your best friend?
Tuesday:
How can you help a new student feel welcome (class/ school)?
Wednesday: What is something you are optimistic about?
Thursday:
Describe how you feel on a warm, sunny day.
Friday:
What would happen if children ruled the world?
SCIENCE
Science labs will begin this week.
Scholars will be assigned a lab partner and group. We will also review safety guidelines for
working in a lab/class.
MATH

As a result, scholars will be tested on place value through the billions, benchmark
